Why do the impact indicator lights on the sockets sometimes update to different colours at different times?

This is because each socket has a staggered connection to our servers. This means they are sending and receiving data at slightly different times. By doing this it allows us to spread the data load across a large number of sockets in a building. Each socket only uses a small amount of data (approx. 4KB per minute) but this methodology ensures there is no scenario where our sockets can congest a network. The effect of this means that not all sockets will change colour at the same time. However, the carbon intensity data will not be affected by this for reporting.
