What do the colours on the plug sockets mean?

The impact indicator is the LED light on our plug sockets and displays a number of colours depending on what it's doing. Here's what they mean.

During set up

Purple: The plug socket is installed and is connecting to the cloud

Teal: The plug socket is installed and has connected to the cloud

Royal blue: The plug socket is deployed and is connecting to the cloud

After set up

Red: Appears when an appliance is plugged in and an OFF ruleset is applied.

Green to red: Live carbon intensity. The LED light displays the live actual carbon intensity (gCO2/kWh) of the National Grid on a scale from green (low carbon intensity) to red (high carbon intensity).

The maximum and minimum of the red to green scale will be set daily based on the forecast carbon intensity.

How can I switch off the LED lights on the sockets?

To switch off the LED lights:

  • Go to the location where you want the LED lights off. If you want to switch off the lights for one socket only, you will need to make sure you're only viewing that socket.
  • Click on the widget icon on the top right for settings.
  • Then hover over LED settings and enable or disable as needed.

Please note that disabling the LED lights takes up to 10 seconds on the actual power sockets. Enabling the LED lights takes up to 30 minutes. The light change on the dashboard is immediate.
